The Biggest Collection of Mahjong Games

Probably all of you heard of the Chinese game of Mahjong, a board game of logic, skills, and luck. The game is considered to be around 2500 years old, but that is not proven. Some say it derived from an even older card game, some think it was invented by Confucius.
Later on in 1981, Brodie Lockard invented the computerized solitaire version and named it Mah-Jongg. The only common thing between the original version and the solitaire (computerized) version are the tiles and some matching rules.Both traditional and solitaire Mahjong version are challenging and fun to play.

Without any further delay let me give you a chance to play both versions.

The Original version is played by 3 or more people. The object is to create a combination of identical tiles of the same suit or tiles of the same suit in numerical order.

Original Mahjong Set (Japanese Mahjong)

The solitaire version is divided into categories depending on the matching rules.

The most common rule is where you need to match two identical tiles, or tiles of the same suit, that are not covered and have left or right side free. We named the category Classic.

There are variations of the classic version with modified matching rules where you need to match two identical tiles that are not covered and have vertical or horizontal side free.

Some developers got even further and created tile matching games with unique set of rules.

One of the favorites these days are so called Mahjong Connect games. In this type you need to connect (link) two identical tiles that are not more than 3 straight lines away from each other, and of course are not covered by any other tile.
